The Delhi Odia Nari Kalyan Samiti (DONKS) is a registered socio-cultural and development organisation based in New Delhi, dedicated to the empowerment of women and children, the promotion of Odia culture, and the creation of sustainable community welfare initiatives. Established under the Societies Registration Act, DONKS operates within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi
The Samiti embodies a dual mission cultural preservation and social development working to protect vulnerable populations while upholding the Odia traditions and festivals that form the backbone of community identity among Odias living in Delhi.
Dedicated to serving the Odia community in Delhi through cultural preservation, women’s welfare programs, and consistent community support for over four decades.
Providing training, guidance, and support to help women build confidence, gain skills, and achieve financial and social independence.
Celebrating Odisha’s rich traditions through festivals, cultural events, and heritage programs that keep the Odia identity alive among the diaspora.
Offering assistance to vulnerable groups through health camps, education support, relief distribution, and welfare activities that uplift the entire community.
To prevent child labour, child marriage, and child begging; and to protect children and women from trafficking and domestic violence.
Providing self-defence and financial aid to young girls and women for education and marriage.
Establishing and managing schools to provide holistic education from pre-primary to higher secondary levels.
Managing professional institutions for arts, crafts, music, yoga, and vocational training.
Organising literacy drives, adult education, exhibitions, essay competitions, cultural events, and seminars.
Running welfare projects like community halls, night shelters, Anganwadi centres, Mahila Ashrams, and healthcare units.
Supporting establishment of tanks, roads, parks, and other community facilities.
All activities are conducted on a no-profit, no-loss basis with funds reinvested for community benefit.
